Indie bookstores operate on very thin margins and our employees are often compensated at the most basic living wage. That’s why we’ve created a staff appreciation award system for every store that wants to join us. Employees will receive stipends from Compass Rose in recognition of their contribution to the success of their store.

Bookstore Staff Appreciation Rewards
Compass Rose Bookstore Staff Appreciation Rewards program is offered to independent bookstore employees in recognition of their contributions to the success of their store. Any store is eligible. Simply sign up with a Compass Rose Bookstore Services Liason or through our contact form and your store – and any of the booksellers you select – will be eligible to be rewarded for their efforts, on your behalf.
Our Staff Appreciation Reward stipends to each store are small, but if we are successful, it’s our hope and belief that our model will be emulated by other larger publishers to a greater measure.

Bookseller Advisory Board
Each year, a diverse cross section of independent store owners are invited to serve on the Compass Rose Publishing Bookseller Advisory Board. Members will be from stores large and small and geographically dispersed. Their contributions will enrich our ongoing communications with independent booksellers and provide input on future title recommendations.
